Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week 2017

Hi Everyone!

It's been a while since I sat down and wrote a blog strictly about fashion.  Just my luck, Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week just happened.

What is Haute Couture?

Haute Couture is defined as “high end fashion that is constructed by hand from start to finish, made from high quality, expensive, often unusual fabric and sewn with extreme attention to detail and finished by the most experienced and capable sewers, often using time-consuming, hand-executed techniques.” (wikipedia lol!)  In France the term is protected by law, and designers have to earn the right to refer to themselves as Haute Couture.

To me, Haute Couture represents the fantasy of what fashion is and can be.    It’s whimsical and artistic yet doesn’t have to be easily wearable.  It’s the feeling you get when you see this amazing dress glide down the runway and all you can do is gasp….  It’s the appreciation you feel when you realize that it took multiple people hundreds of hours to create a one of a kind piece of art.  And it’s the hope that one day I get to see such beauty in real life.

Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week just ended and I wanted show you guys some of my favorite pieces from five of my all-time favorite designers!
