Happy New Year!
It's finally 2017 and I can't believe that 2016 is over. It seems like I blinked and it was done. But before my 2017 can start, I want to take a moment and look back at few events that took place in 2016 prior to starting my blog, The Creole Peach.
First, my parents and I finally took a family vacation to Disney World. Now if you know me or have followed my Instagram or blog account, you know how much I love Disney. I was lucky enough to go to Disney World twice in 2016, in April and December. My parents and I went in the beginning of April. My Dad hadn't been to Disney World since it opened in the 70's. My mom and I spent a day in the Magic Kingdom a few years ago, but we had to leave early because we were attending a conference. This was the first time we could all go together and we had a blast. And yes, being a disnerd meant I was their tour guide. We spent one day in the Magic Kingdom and one in EPCOT during the Flower and Garden Festival.
Second, and most important, in August I got engaged to my boyfriend of four years Russell! Although I knew he would be asking for my hand in marriage, he caught me completely off guard and pulled off a magical proposal in a beautiful garden. He then surprised me with our family and friends afterwards at a restaurant near by. Russell went to Solomon Brothers and got me a beautiful canary diamond. Every time I look at my ring, I get distracted. My work productivity has decreased by 50% (lol!). I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend. We both love each other for all our wonky flaws, and definitely make each other better.
Third, after much prayer and support from family and friends, I started The Creole Peach. I started this website because I needed an outlet to express my creativity. I was hesitant at first, but ultimately I believe I made the right decision. The Creole Peach is only a couple of months old, but I've loved every minute of it...though stressful at times. There have been times I wanted to give up whether because I didn't feel like taking pictures or there was a scheduling conflict with my photographer (my fiance)...but I kept pushing through. Even though it hasn't been that long, I'm slowly starting to find my stride. I know that in 2017, this blog will get better and bigger, and hopefully one day I'll be working with the fashionista's I follow. Below are just of some of my favorite looks for 2016!
Here's hoping that 2017 will be just as awesome! I'm getting married, moving in with my husband-to-be and hopefully going to Disney World again! In 2017, I want to be more positive, confident and couragous. And I want to surround myself with people with the same goals.
To all my readers and future readers, cheers to 2017! Make it a good one!
XOXO
